How WashMate handles your information

Who we are

WashMate is booking software for mobile car washers and detailers. Customers book those businesses through WashMate booking pages. You can reach us at hello@washmate.app.

When you book a car wash

We collect your name, mobile, email, address, car size and the services you pick. They go to the business you booked with, so they can do the job, and we use them to send you confirmation, reminder and cancellation messages by email and text. We don’t sell them.

Payment is between you and the business: WashMate doesn’t take or store payment details.

If you run a business on WashMate

We collect your sign-in email, your business details, the suburbs you travel to and the address you work from. Your address is used to suggest nearby suburbs and addresses and is never shown to customers.

Analytics

We use PostHog to understand how our pages are used: which pages are visited, where visitors came from (such as a Facebook post or a search), the device and browser, and an approximate location. We also record anonymised sessions to find where booking gets confusing; anything typed into a form, and the address suggestions, are hidden from those recordings. PostHog stores this using cookies or your browser’s local storage. We don’t send your name, phone, email or address to PostHog.

You can block cookies in your browser settings, and bookings will still work.

Who else handles it

To run WashMate we use service providers: Fly.io to host it, Resend to send email, ClickSend to send texts, Google Maps for address search and drive times, and PostHog for analytics. They handle the information only to provide those services to us, and some of them store it outside Australia.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you by emailing hello@washmate.app. If you booked with a business, you can also contact them directly.
